Equipment: Each player will receive a helmet, shoulder pads and home and away jerseys. Players are responsible for buying their own football pants, cleats, girdle pads, mouth guard, and a protective cup. Each season all of SYF’s equipment is sanitized, inspected, and reconditioned to meet all standards of safety.
In order to receive your child's equipment, all player documentation must be handed in and registration must be paid in full. The following is a list of the required documents and can be found under the documents section of our website and/or at http://www.sheyfc.siplay.com/site/ where you registered your child.

Orange practices jerseys can be purchased at Blanchette’s Sporting Good located on Bridgeport Ave. They are $15 and MUST be ordered by as soon as possible, so that they will be in for the first week of practice. Bring your child in and they will size them accordingly. Returning players that still have a practice jersey do not need to buy a new one.
Practices: Practice begins the first week of August. The first week requires minimum of 10 hours of conditioning with no pads. The second week of practice the pads go on and light contact begins. In week three, full contact begins. FULL CONDITIONING OF 20 HOURS MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE 3rd WEEK OF AUGUST. PLEASE SCHEDULE YOUR VACATIONS AROUND THIS SCHEDULE AS BEST AS POSSIBLE TO HELP ACCOMMODATE LEAGUE RULES. If your child misses these early practices, he cannot begin contact until conditioning requirements are met. In September, practice is reduced to three times per week.
Once school begins, practice days and times will be at the discretion of the head coach.
Games: Home games are played every Sunday. Away games are played on Sundays with the occasional Saturday depending on the Town and their field availability. Each team will play 8 regular season games with one bye week. Playoffs begin the following week which could extend the season 3 weeks. Home games are played at Gracie Field, 54 Grove Street, Shelton, CT 06484.
If at anytime you have a question your head coach is your first contact. If your head coach can not answer your question he will contact either Rob Darby, our football director or Andrew Zebendon, our VP of Football. Open communications is the key to a successful season and happy safe athletes. Please feel free at any time to express concerns or questions. If we don't know we can't help. We are looking forward to another successful football season!!
